Katie Ledecky Says She Tried the ‘Infamous' Chocolate Muffins at 2024 Olympics: ‘I Can't Do That for Breakfast'

Katie Ledecky, a sweet tooth, was not up to the food at the 2024 Olympics.

The swimmer, 27, revealed she tried the “infamous” chocolate muffins during her time in Paris for the Games this summer while attending the Raising Cane employee appreciation conference in Cancún, Mexico on Tuesday (September 24).

After giving the keynote presentation and before heading into a Q&A with the restaurant’s owner and founder Todd Graves and co-CEO AJ Kumaran, Ledecky said one question she keeps getting asked has to do with the sweet bite.

“One question I get a lot is, ‘Have you tried the chocolate muffins at the Olympic Village, the infamous chocolate muffins?’ Yes, I did,” said the athlete.

“I tried it after I finished the breakfast competition,” she continued, adding, “I ate about two bites because it was a real chocolate cake, and I can’t do that for breakfast.”

Earlier this summer, during the Paris Games, double chocolate muffins served in the Olympic Village went viral on TikTok.

“It is filled and covered with dark chocolate, with pieces of dark chocolate and milk chocolate. This muffin is served daily in the main sports restaurant and at six takeout locations within the Village,” explained a company representative.

“This dessert is very popular, because there are about 2,000 chocolate muffins [are] consumed every day in the Sports Village. In total, Sodexo Live! plans to serve 100,000 muffins throughout the Sports Village during [the] Olympic and Paralympic Games,” they added at the time, without revealing the delicious recipe.

Katie Ledecky reveals the hiding place of the gold medals she won at the 2024 Olympics.

During the Raising Cane event earlier this week, Ledecky was a special guest alongside Snoop Dogg. After his own Q&A, the 52-year-old rapper performed a DJ set.

The event, according to a press release, was organized “to recognize, reward and celebrate” more than 3,000 Raising Cane leaders and those who matter to them. It was described as “an industry-defining conference focused on relaxation and a good time.”
