Ex-Fiancée of Lana Del Rey’s New Husband Says She Was 'Shocked' by Their Marriage, but Is 'Happy' for the Couple

The ex-fiancée of Lana Del Rey’s new husband, Jeremy Dufrene, has well wishes for the newlyweds.

Kelli Welsh was engaged to Durfrene – who married Del Rey, 39, on September 26 in Des Allemandes, Louisiana – for 12 years before they split in October 2023. The Daily Mail reported.

Speaking to the outlet, Welsh, 45, said that while she was “shocked” to learn of her ex-lover’s wedding, she was “happy” for Dufrene and Del Rey.

“I’m in shock because we were engaged for 12 years and he got married a month later,” Welsh said. “But I’m happy for him.”

“He is a very protective, hard-working, manly man. He had to step out of his comfort zone. He was used to the Baylor life and being in the swamp,” she added. “He is responsible for this blessing.”

Del Rey exchanged vows with Dufrene at the public bay where he works as a captain at Airboat Tours by Arthur.

Although Del Rey and Dufrene didn’t go out in public for long, their nuptials took place a few years after the “Summertime Sadness” singer first met her new boyfriend.

Del Rey first shared photos of Dufrene on Facebook in 2019 after she went on one of his wilderness tours. “Jeremy lemme to captain Arthur’s Air Boat Tours,” she captioned a series of pictures at the time.

According to The Daily MailDufrene and Welsh began dating as teenagers, though they broke up after a year.

Dufrene then married his first wife, Gina, with whom he shares three children, the paper reported, although their marriage ended after a year. Dufrene eventually returned with Welsh a few years later in 2011.

Next year, The Daily Mail said that Dufrene and Welsh became engaged, although they never married.

“He was always giving, so whatever someone gives him, he deserves it,” Welsh said of her former love for the outlet. “He’s a very solid guy. I really care about him as a friend. His ability to love, care and protect people makes him so attractive.”

“I will say that he does look happy with her,” she continued. “And she’s doing that with him, which is good to see. He’s not fake happy, he’s really in love with her.”
