In 2015, Kavita made her debut in the TV series “Dosti…Yaariyan…Manmarziyan”, playing the role of Piyali. She has appeared in various other television shows such as Beyhadh (2016), KumKum Bhagya (2018), Ishq Aaj Kal (2019), Kartik Purnima (2020), and Avrodh: The Siege Within (2020). In an interview, she talked about her acting career and said:
oh! This is still very new to me. I started acting about five years ago. I am a regular mother living in Delhi, taking care of my three kids, in-laws and husband and attending a lot of kitty parties like any other Delhi woman. Acting happened purely by accident. My eldest daughter was spotted at a wedding, and the writers and production team of the TV series “Manmarziyan” are discussing new faces for the series. While Ovana’s name was chosen as the second lead in the show, writer Durjoy Datta, who is also a family friend, and his team randomly said “Uski mom Kobe check out Kareena” . She doesn’t look that bad. “So that’s what happened.”

In 2018, Kavita made her acting debut in the film Veere Di Wedding, playing the role of Ritu Puri. She later acted in several films like Thugs of Hindostan (2018) and Love Aaj Kal (2020). In an interview, Kavita talked about her role in the film Love Aaj Kal (2020) and said:
I’m excited to be able to play a mother role in two places at the same time. One thing to note is that I play Kartik’s mother, Kartik Aryan’s mother in the film, in both places.Love Aaj Khar” and Harsh Nagar’s mother in our new show ‘Kartik Purnima’. I’m really happy that both the film and the TV series have done well.”

I remember when I was only 14 or 15 years old, I would tear pages of Rekha Ji out of magazines and stick them on the mirror and try to imitate all the amazing makeup looks she wore. So it’s like, I learned almost all my makeup from her. ”
