Keke Palmer had an interaction with her manager that left her scarred.
In a recent interview with The Cut, the Emmy winner, 31, revealed that her former manager once criticized her mother’s health.
Palmer, who was 12 at the time, recalled being told her mother would die if she didn’t lose weight.
“It really, really traumatized and stressed me out,” she said. “I thought he was going to die, thinking about things like the medical bills. It was too much.”

It was just one of many difficult experiences for Palmer, who stars in the upcoming film One of those days, had an actor as a child.
She also recalled feeling the pressure to land new acting roles because she was financially supporting her family.
“I hated my parents for a long time,” she told the paper. “There was so much pressure to stand tall for my community, for my parents, for my brothers and sisters, for their victims. They didn’t say that, but that was the reality.”
The actress was 10 years old when she made her screen debut in 2004. Barber shop 2: Back in business. “I was 15, he was 20,” Palmer said of the unidentified person. “I was trying to balance between being very young, but also feeling quite mature. If I thought it was inappropriate, I wouldn’t have done it.”
“Obviously I shouldn’t have been dating a 20-year-old at 15,” she added, “but in my mind I was like, ‘I got a full-time job… I can’t be understood by anyone but a grown man.’ But he I knew there were a lot of things I had no goddamn way of understanding at 15.”
