Keke Palmer’s Ex Darius Jackson Files Request for His Own Domestic Violence Restraining Order

Darius Jackson has filed for a domestic violence restraining order against Keke Palmer, seeking his own protection from the actress.

Jackson, 29, filed a complaint against Not actress, 30, earlier this week, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

He requires Palmer not to contact him and to stay 100 meters away from him, his house and his vehicle. Jackson also requested that the hearing be scheduled for Jan. 9, to be held “concurrently” with a hearing on Palmer’s “existing” domestic violence restraining order.

In early November, Palmer was granted a temporary restraining order against Jackson and temporary sole custody of their son, 9-month-old Leodis “Leo” Andrellton.

She alleged that Jackson “trespassed into my home” on Nov. 5 and “threatened me and then physically assaulted me — lunging at my neck, punching me, throwing me over the couch and stealing my phone when I told him I was going to call the police .” Palmer claimed that the abuse took place over a two-year period and was witnessed by her mother and sister.

Last week, Jackson responded to Palmer’s complaint, claiming that Palmer was the “primary aggressor” in their relationship, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Jackson cited several alleged incidents dating back to August 2021 and claimed the actress “behaved violently during a two-and-a-half-year relationship,” subjecting him to both “physical and verbal abuse.”

He claims there are several instances where Palmer punched, choked and punched him, as well as one day when she allegedly “called him more than 200 times and sent him more than 50 emails,” according to legal documents.

Jackson also claimed he changed his phone number in March 2022 “to avoid further harassment and threats” from Palmer, who he said “often became agitated and aggressive after consuming alcohol,” in the filing.

Jackson, who first started dating the actress in 2021, also requested “joint legal and physical custody” of their child. In the filing, he argued that Palmer “unilaterally eliminated all access” to Leo.

Jackson’s request for a concurrent hearing on Jan. 9 comes after the former couple postponed their originally scheduled trial date of Dec. 5 to “allow the parties time to attend mediation.”

Since then, both have agreed that Palmer’s temporary restraining order will “remain in force and effect” until a rescheduled hearing, extending Palmer’s sole custody.

A source close to the actress previously told PEOPLE that she “agreed to mediation because the case has received so much speculation and media attention, and she is concerned about her privacy, Leo’s privacy and her family’s privacy.”
