KELLY CATES is set to leave her role at Sky Sports to become Match of the Day presenter, according to reports.
She will become one of three presenters of the country’s main football show after Gary Lineker steps down at the end of the season, writes the Daily Mail.

She presented leading shows including Super Sunday
Gabby Logan and Mark Chapman are believed to share the officiating duties with Cates for the Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2.
Both are BBC presenters who have worked on the show for the past few years.
Since 2013, Cates has worked intermittently for the BBC, for Radio 5 Live.
She presented the cult fan phone-in show 606 alongside Ian Wright on Sunday between 2013 and 2018.
After joining Sky Sports her role was reduced, but Cates returned to host the midweek sports show, 5 Live Sport, mainly on Tuesdays, while also covering the 2022 World Cup.
The daughter of Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish has become a TV presenter at Sky Sports, working on several Premier League shows including Friday Night Live and Super Sunday, where she appeared today for the Manchester Derby.
Sky Sports bosses are said to be sad to see her go – but she was thought to be the BBC’s leading outside candidate to take over from the iconic Lineker.
Logan and Chapman, who have worked for the BBC for several years including on Match of the Day, have both received public support for the presenter role.

Iconic TV host Lorraine Kelly brought up Logan’s name, saying: “While his [Gary’s] replacement has not yet been announced, it has been suggested that a woman may take over.
“With Alex Scott, Gabby Logan and Laura Woods among the favourites.

“Can I just say – without disparaging the other two – but Gabby Logan would be stunning.
“She’s fantastic, makes it look easy, knows everything about everything and is wonderful.”
While Ally McCoist recommended ‘Chappers’, saying: “Yeah, I was going to say the same thing. I feel like it’s an iconic show and you’re used to seeing one person.
“I want to go and see one person, whether it’s Chappers or Kelly [Somers]. I know them both, great, great people.”
