Clarkson’s “Underneath the Tree” from 2013 Wrapped in red climbs the Billboard Hot 100 every holiday season, peaking at #12. place in 2021, making it one of her more successful singles.

In fact, according to the Society of American Composers, Authors and Publishers’ 2021 rankings, it’s actually the best new Christmas song of the 2000s so far, per Diversity.

‘Christmas is not canceled (only you)’

“Christmas isn’t canceled (just you)” off When Christmas comes… was the first holiday song Clarkson wrote after her split from husband Brandon Blackstock.

“I didn’t really feel like writing Christmas music,” she said before performing the single in 2021. “I was sad and everything just kind of felt like it was going wrong. And I thought, well, that’s kind of a good idea, that everything can be canceled, but not Christmas – I’ll keep that to myself.”
