The Grammy-winning singer and Emmy-winning daytime host is having a deadly Halloween this year, becoming the weird and quirky Beetlejuice (or Betelgeuse, as his name is often spelled) for the Oct. 31 episode of the show. The Kelly Clarkson Show.
PEOPLE has the first look at Clarkson in costume, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at her unusual transformation into the ‘Ghost with the Most.’
She fleshes out the look, recreating the black and white striped suit, green hair, dark eyes and creepy skin. He even rocks his rotten teeth,
It’s a makeover so effective, everyone – the house band in The Kelly Clarkson Show — aptly told Clarkson, “Look gross” when they first saw her dressed up, laughing at the outcome.

Of course, Clarkson didn’t do everything herself. She had a killer glam team, starting with stylist Micaela Erlanger and dresser Arleisha Randle, who took care of Beetlejuice’s wardrobe.
Emmy-nominated make-up artist Gloria Elias-Foeillet was behind the creation of Beetlejuice’s ghostly complexion, while Emmy-winner Louie Zakarian — designer and department head Saturday night live — did all the makeup for the special effects.
And there were also hairdresser Corey Morris and SNL wig maker Brittany Hartman, who created Beetlejuice’s signature ‘do.

But Clarkson doesn’t just stop at the Beetlejuice aesthetic. She embraces every aspect of the character Michael Keaton made famous on screen, even imitating the actor’s iconic speech.
Fans were first introduced to Beetlejuice in Tim Burton’s 1988 American Gothic dark fantasy starring Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis (among others). Keaton, Ryder and O’Hara reprized their roles Beetlejuice Beetlejuicethis year’s long-awaited sequel, also directed by the 66-year-old Burton.
The Kelly Clarkson Showlike its title star, goes all-in on bug juice franchise, too. Along with Clarkson’s costume, the show incorporates elements from both films into its set, even recreating the iconic city model.

The cast bug juice: Where are they now?
Like all episodes, the Halloween party kicks off with one of Clarkson’s acclaimed Kellyoke numbers. This time, she and the band — also in costume — perform a spooky cover of “Banana Boat (Day-O),” a Harry Belafonte tune used in one of bug juicethe most famous scenes.
Guests Reba McEntire and her boyfriend, actor Rex Linn, also appear in costume — Linn’s ensemble especially horrifying McEntire.
Food artist and Practical features creator Nikk Alcaraz also makes an appearance, giving Clarkson, McEntire and Linn a tour of spooky dishes from his new book, Peculiar Baking: A practical guide to unusual desserts.

There is also a never-before-seen segment with the past The Kelly Clarkson Show guests Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone. The pair take on Clarkson in an ultra-competitive ax throwing contest straight from their new podcast, Barback Hildy and the Lake of Fire.
The episode will end with the Boulet Brothers performing “All Hallows’ Eve” from their new EP Halloween house party, as well as a segment about a NICU nurse in Wisconsin who crocheted Halloween costumes for newborns.

This is Clarkson’s sixth Halloween episode of her talk show and the second since she moved the popular daytime series from Los Angeles and across the country to New York.
Last season she played a blood-sucking vampire, and the year before she chose another spooky look inspired by Stevie Nicks. But the first three seasons were about lighter entertainment: Ghostbusters (Season 3), Marilyn Monroe (Season 2) and Winifred Sanderson from Hocus pocus (Season 1).
