Kelly Clarkson Says Taylor Swift Sent Her a ‘Cute’ Gift After 1989 Re-Release: ‘She’s So Nice’

Taylor Swift has Reputation for giving great gifts, according to Kelly Clarkson.

On Thursday, the “Breakaway” singer, 41, ran into Hey! News about how she got sweet surprises from her fellow hitmaker, 33.

The talk show host promoted the launch of her SiriusXM channel, the Kelly Clarkson Relationship, when she discovered that Swift had sent her tokens of his gratitude.

“You know what’s so funny? She just sent me flowers,” the TV personality said. “She’s so good. She is. She said, ‘Every time I let something go’ — ’cause that’s exactly what she did in 1989. And I got that really cute cardigan.”

Clarkson was responding to Hey!reporter referring to American Idol victorious tweet 2019 suggesting that the “Shake It Off” singer re-record her songs after Scooter Braun bought Swift’s music catalog in a $300 million sale.

@taylorswift13 I’m just thinking, you should go in and re-record all the songs you don’t have the masters for exactly as you made them, but put in brand new art and some kind of incentive so fans don’t buy the old versions anymore. I’d buy all the new versions just to prove something,” Clarkson tweeted at the time.

Fast forward to October, in 1989 (Taylor’s version), a re-recorded version of her album was released in 2014. Swift has also released re-recorded versions Fearless, Red and Speak now.

While Clarkson was happy to show her support, she believes Swift would ultimately handle the situation on her own.

“I love how kind she is,” Clarkson continued. “She’s a very smart business woman. So she would have thought of that. But it’s just bullshit when you see artists that you admire and respect really want something and it’s special to them. You know if they’re going to find a loophole, you find a loophole law. And she’s done it and she’s literally, like, the best-selling artist of all time that makes me feel.”

The “Since U Been Gone” hitmaker is absolutely spot on.

Swift’s remix became her 13th No. 1 on the Billboard charts and sold 1.6 million units in the US (and over 3.5 million units worldwide) in its first week alone — breaking her own record of previously set with 2014’s Album, at 1.287 million.

The performance was announced on August 9 when she wrapped up the US leg of her Eras Tour in Los Angeles.

“There’s something I’ve been planning for a really, really, really ridiculously, embarrassingly long time, and instead of telling you about it, I think I’ll just show you,” she said as she debuted the cover on the screen behind her.
