Kelsea Ballerini Is All About That Country Sparkle in Sequin Gown on Date Night with Chase Stokes at 2024 CMA Awards

Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes are making their bid for Country Music’s Cutest Couple Award at the 2024 CMA Awards!

The singer, 31, wore a shimmering silver Dolce & Gabbana dress, while her boyfriend, Stokes, 32, wore a classic black suit, at the awards show in Nashville on November 20.

Ballerina’s dress draped low on the sides, giving a daring glimpse of skin. The loose bodice contrasted with the fitted skirt that gathered into a short train. Ballerini kept it glamorous and wore her blonde hair long and loose.

The couple posed for sweet photos on the carpet, leaning on each other and looking heart to eye for the cameras.

The country singer revealed to PEOPLE her latest wardrobe blunder on stage earlier this month.

The fashion incident happened on her Heartfirst Tour, which took place in 2022 and 2023.

“I do all these costume changes, and I had jeans on,” Ballerini said. “I sang ‘Miss Me More’, and because I have my own [in-ear] monitors, in my brain, I’m thinking, ‘Man, people are really shouting this. There’s something particularly stormy tonight!’ And then I realized that they were shouting at me to fasten the bar. That was embarrassing.”

Ballerini quickly adapted and was not horrified.

“I was already caught in a zipper in a quick change and I just had to grab the microphone and be in the tent backstage, like, ‘Be there for a second, please don’t leave!’ ” she said. “But now I feel like all those moments, instead of being uncomfortable, I’m just rolling with it. It’s happening.”

The Forms the singer also revealed the latest update to her tattoo collection. It has the word “sunflower” on the back for an inspirational reason.

“They always grow towards the sun. It’s a representative place in my life right now: I’m growing inside myself towards good things,” shared the artist.

Sunflowers are a constant in Ballerina’s wardrobe — she wore a sunflower-inspired dress to the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards, which she also attended with Stokes.

The Roberto Cavalli singer’s dress was meant to “look like a sunflower” and featured shades of yellow, black and white. She wore statement earrings and pulled her hair back for a polished look. Stokes matched her vibe in a brown suit and crocodile-embossed boots.

The 58th Annual CMA Awards air live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, November 20, from 8-11pm on ABC. The show airs the next day on Hulu.
