Kendall Jenner Dons Blonde Bob for Marilyn Monroe Costume: ‘Happy Birthday, Mister President’

Kendall Jenner is serving up looks this Halloween.

The 27-year-old model opted for a simple but chic costume this year, hiding her dark locks under a curly blonde bob to pay tribute to the legendary model-actress Marilyn Monroe.

Instead of recreating one of the blonde bombshell’s iconic dresses (or wearing an original, like sister Kim Kardashian did), Jenner emulated the more casual — but equally iconic — Monroe look.

The The Kardashians The star appears to have been inspired by the iconic 1953 pin-up model Life magazine photo shoot, in which the then 26-year-old wore a simple black turtleneck and white cigarette pants—and, of course, her signature curly bob.

Jenner embodied the Hollywood starlet in a sultry Instagram post on Sunday, which she cheekily captioned, “Happy Birthday Mr. President,” a nod to the iconic moment when Monroe serenaded President John F. Kennedy in 1962.

The model’s post comes a day after she hosted a star-studded Halloween gathering at the Chateau Marmont with a guest list including Billie Eilish, Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz and Charli D’Amelio.

Jenner has a long history of providing inspiration for Pinterest-worthy Halloween costumes.

For example, her 2018 witch style has left purple sparkly dresses and broomsticks behind for something much more chic. The eternal trendsetter, Jenner dressed in a simple black dress, transparent gloves and a witch’s hat.

Before Monroe, Jenner channeled another blonde icon: the femme fatale from Austin Powers franchise. The look consisted of a dramatic blonde wig, a flowing pink minidress and matching heels.

Although the Kardashian-Jenner family takes Halloween seriously and goes all out, Jenner opted for a lighter approach to the holiday when she dressed up as a cucumber in 2022. The costume was a nod to the viral moment she showed off her clumsy knife skills in the kitchen on her family’s reality show.

Jenner posted a TikTok in a funny costume, jokingly set to the sound of Lindsay Lohan Mean girls character saying, “In the world of girls, Halloween is the only night of the year when a girl can dress up as a total slut and no other girl can say anything about it.”

Jenner’s past costumes also include a sexy version of Jessie from Toy story, the fairy princess, Pamela Anderson and the dead bride. In 2020, Jenner faced backlash for celebrating Halloween at a celebrity-filled party during the ongoing COVID pandemic.
