Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Wife McKenzie Welcome Baby: ‘It’s Safe to Say We Are All Obsessed!’

Congratulations are in order for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and his wife McKenzie Caldwell-Pope!

On Friday, the NBA star’s spouse shared the news that they welcomed a baby girl.

“8/23/23 Kendall Raquel Caldwell-Pope made her grand entrance and we’ve been soaking up these precious moments,” she began in an Instagram post.

In the cover photo of her carousel, she smiled as she looked at her child. An assortment of flowers was also seen in the background of the hospital delivery room.

“You could say we’re all obsessed!” she added.

“Kendall, you are so loved. A look at the first 48 hours with our sweet little girl. 🎀.”

Congratulatory comments poured in to mark the special occasion.

“Daryn says hey twinnnn! 🩷,” Steph Curry’s younger sister Sydel Curry wrote. “Let’s go,” Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma said.

Another photo from the broadcast shows Kentavious and McKenzie sitting in a hospital bed with their mom holding Kendall in her arms. Other pictures saw the little girl meeting her siblings.

The Denver Nuggets shooting guard and his wife have three other children, Kenzo, Kentavious Jr. and Kendrix.

“God said be fruitful and multiply 🥹🤣💯🍋🍇🍓👶🏽👶🏽👶🏽👶🏽 #babynumber4,” Kentavious wrote on an Instagram carousel on Friday, sharing three pictures of himself and McKenzie smiling in Positano, Italy, ahead of a newborn. with arrival.

In August 2020, McKenzie spoke with E! News about what it was like raising three young children without Kentavious when the COVID-19 pandemic caused his former team to be quarantined away from their families.

“My first reaction was, how is this going to work? And when will I see you again?” she recalled thinking when she first got the news that 22 NBA teams had been instructed to stay at one of three Disney World resorts for up to three months.

“But because my husband plays for the Lakers, they say, ‘This is our year.’ So they were so determined to make it work. I’m just trying to support from home and keep it going,” McKenzie said during the interview.

The outlet noted that during the pandemic, basketball games were mostly limited to other teams and personnel in quarantine.

“Then I would like to travel with my mom or a nanny,” she added. “So I’d need at least five seats. I don’t know how that’s going to work and I honestly don’t think they’ve figured it out yet because we haven’t heard anything.”

The NBA later released a statement saying that “players’ families and longtime close personal friends” would be allowed in, but only 17 guest rooms would be allocated to each team.

Kentavious and McKenzie, who first met in 2013, often show their family bond on social media.

“Dad is my son’s first hero. I’m proud of it! Happy Father’s Day to all fathers!” the two-time NBA champion wrote a June upload of his wife and children in the parade. While Kentavious chose to go shirtless in the first photo, the rest of the pictures show his tribe in Denver Nuggets jerseys.

Caldwell-Pope won his first NBA championship ring with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2019-20 season. The former Georgia Bulldog secured his second championship with the Denver Nuggets who took home the 2023 Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.
