Kevin Hart and Chris Rock Hit the Road Together in Trailer for Netflix Doc Headliners Only

Kevin Hart and Chris Rock are teaming up for a Netflix documentary.

The duo is set to star in the streaming giant Kevin Hart & Chris Rock: Main performers onlywhich follows “two comedy icons on tour together” — specifically, during their week-long stay in New York and New Jersey in July 2022, titled Rock Hart: Only covers allowed.

“In the first documentary of its kind, Kevin Hart & Chris Rock: Main performers only will give audiences a behind-the-scenes look into the lives of two comedy titans,” reads the official description of the Rashidi Harper-directed film.

The synopsis adds: “This exclusive film follows Hart and Rock as they recount firsthand their early lives, struggles, triumphs and their unbreakable brotherhood.”

Dave Chappelle joins Chris Rock and Kevin Hart on stage in New York: ‘I had to sneak in here’

The 60-second trailer opens with Hart, 44, saying: “This is the story of two separate journeys [that] sort of align and end up at the same intersection at the top.”

Later in the trailer, Hart tells Rock, 58, “I’m excited about this week not just because of the arena factor…” before Rock interrupts, “I’m just excited to hang out with you! That’s it.”

Hart and Rock announced their joint tour in March 2022, with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star says in a statement: “When Chris and I realized we’d both be touring this year, we knew right away we needed to do something special. We’ve been friends and mentors for 20 years, but we’d never shared the main stage together — until now!”

“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the return of live comedy than to co-host the show with my brother Chris Rock. This is an important moment in comedy and one for the history books,” Hart added.

The sold-out tour — which kicked off four months after the Rock and Will Smith’s infamous slap at the 2022 Oscars — was full of surprises, including an appearance by Dave Chappelle at their Madison Square Garden show to bringing a goat on stage (which Hart joked his name is Will Smith.)

Rock continued his stand-up success with the release of his live comedy special Chris Rock: Selective Outragewhich aired on Netflix last March.

During the special, Rock took a stab at Smith, 55, and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, claiming that King Richard the actor “practices selective rage.”

After the special aired, an industry source told PEOPLE that Rock was “riding high,” adding, “He said what he had to say and he doesn’t care about the backlash either way. He’s not worried .”

In his new memoir WorthyPinkett Smith, 52, appeared to share her thoughts on Rock’s comedy special, writing in part, “What do you do, say, if someone decides to do a comedy special full of lies and gratuitous insults? You love them like God, and you tell yourself when people hurt you that it could be that they believe they will feel better if they attack.”

Selective rage, which was recorded in Pinkett Smith’s hometown of Baltimore, marked the first time Rock had spoken publicly about the slapping incident. Will, who has since apologized, is banned from the Academy for 10 years.

Kevin Hart & Chris Rock: Main performers only premieres December 12 on Netflix.
