Kevin Hart Responds to Katt Williams Saying He Steals His Movie Roles: ‘If That’s What Fuels Him’

Kevin Hart is responding to a significant amount of criticism that fellow comedian Katt Williams has leveled at him recently.

While talking to WSJ. Magazine for the Spring 2024 menswear issue, Hart, 44, was asked about Williams, 52, who recently rekindled a long-running feud between the two when he questioned whether Hart’s career success was organic and criticized the film roles Hart took on during appearances in January at Shannon Sharpe Club Shay Shay podcast.

“That’s it. That’s fun,” Hart told the outlet when asked about Williams’ criticism of Hart’s career choice. “If that’s what he’s going for, God bless him. Good for him. I hope he get everything he needs and wants, and I’m here rooting for him from afar.”

“That’s my real energy. I really mean it!” he added. “I am so happy and confident in my career and life.

During a recent appearance on Williams’ podcast with Sharpe, he criticized Hart’s work and claimed that Hart refuses to be in the same building with him, seemingly implying that Hart is afraid of him.

“For a period of five years, every single movie that Kevin Hart did was a movie that was on my desk and all I said was ‘Can we take this step and get the s— out and then I can do it?’ ” Williams said during that podcast. He suggested that Hart routinely took over film roles from him after Williams would ask for script revisions before signing on to a project.

“And I say that and they say ‘oh yeah, no problem’ and then they give it to the other guy and make him do it like it was and act like I’m a bad person because I’m still holding my standards.” , he added at the time.”It’s interesting, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything — again, I’m on the winning side of these decisions.”

Williams also called Hart a “gatekeeper” in the comedy industry during the interview. “Didn’t Kevin open the door and let Tiffany in?” He said, seemingly referring to Tiffany Haddish. “Doesn’t he open it now for so-and-so? What do you mean there’s no gatekeeper?”

Williams seems to have long had a crush on Hart and Haddish, among other comedians in the entertainment industry. Back in 2018, the comedian complained in a radio interview that comedians like Haddish, 44, Hart and others don’t deserve the success they’ve achieved so quickly in their careers, prompting Hart to say that Williams should “take responsibility” for her own career by replying on.
