The trick to good sex is to rest well

And this applied to those who were treated for insomnia, as well as to those who were not.

Researchers believe that sleep disruption affects the system that produces hormones, including testosterone.

American and Italian teams followed 1.1 million men, half of whom had insomnia.

Of these, 356,575 had therapy such as benzodiazepines – a type of sleep medicine.

After taking into account factors such as smoking, drinking and illness that can affect the possibility of erectile dysfunction, the analysis showed that men with insomnia were more at risk.

dr. Federico Belladelli, from Stanford University, told the journal European Urology Focus: “Men with pharmacological treatment for insomnia were more likely to be prescribed ED (erectile dysfunction) treatments.

These results suggest that treating insomnia may worsen ED and require more treatment.”

More than half of men between the ages of 40 and 70 suffer from ED.

It can be a symptom of underlying conditions such as high blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes.
