Kim Kardashian is known to be an accomplished skier, but she received some criticism from fans when she appeared to be wearing no helmet while on a chairlift in Colorado with her sister Khloé Kardashian.
“ASPEN,” she snapped the pictures, which showed her in all-black ski gear, including black Anon M2 MFI ski goggles and leather ski straps and a Victoria Beckham jacket, as she and Khloé rode the chairlift at Buttermilk Mountain Resort.
“VIBES,” Khloé, 39, wrote under Kim’s post.
Some fans in the comments on her Instagram pointed out the lack of a helmet in the picture. “You know what would make this sexier? A helmet!” one fan wrote, while another said: “Helmet please!”
However, a source tells PEOPLE that Kim, 43, wears a helmet while on the slopes. “She regularly wears a helmet,” says the source, noting that it was probably taken off for the photo shoot.

Although Kim was not seen wearing a helmet, Khloé not only wore a helmet, but a full one motorcycle helmet as she posed with her sister, complete with built-in Bluetooth speakers in the shape of cat ears.
The Kardashians regularly share photos from their ski trips on social media.
In 2018, Kim took to Instagram to show off her skills on the slopes and took a picture of herself wearing a helmet while going downhill.
“Fun fact — I can ski,” she captioned the post.

While the Kardashians seem to be prone to frolicking in Aspen, the snow-loving family has also been spotted on ski trips around the world in the past, including in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Deer Valley, Utah.

Earlier this month, Khloé also shared Instagram photos from her Aspen getaway with Kim.
This time she wasn’t wearing a helmet. In fact, she wasn’t wearing much! The picture was taken while she was posing in a bikini and a fur coat in the snow.
“Gives off mob wife vibes… Fake mob wife, of course,” she wrote of the images.
