Kim Kardashian sends well wishes to a shooting victim who went viral after she said a SKIMS bodysuit helped save her life.
The Keeping up with the Kardashians alum, 42, surprised fan Nina Wiley with a video message The Show Jennifer Hudson in a new episode airing Wednesday, after Wiley shared her traumatic story about the shooting on the show.
The 22-year-old was shot four times after attending a party on New Year’s Eve 2023 and told host Jennifer Hudson that she believes her SKIMS outfit saved her life during the incident.
“I think I got a low number, but it should do the job,” said Wiley, who suffered a fractured pelvis and ruptured bladder in the shooting.
“So not only did it help with the compression when I was shot, but it completely changed where the bullet went into me in the first place,” she explained, adding, “because the doctors were saying how … the bullets could have really killed me . People die from being shot once, I was shot four times.”
Wiley revealed that “so many things could have gone wrong” for her and said she believes her SKIMS outfit played “such a big part in keeping me alive”.
“Especially because it took so long for 911 to get to me,” Wiley said of the aftermath of the shooting. “And doctors will tell you the first thing they do in situations like this is apply pressure – and I’ve already locked that down.”

Hudson later presented a video of Kardashian, which brought Wiley to tears.
“Hi Nina, I wish I was there in person, but I wanted to say a quick hello,” the SKIMS founder posted. “I loved hearing your story and I’m thinking of you as you continue to recover.”
“I also heard you’re going to study criminal justice and I wanted to congratulate you. Study hard, it’s not easy. I’m looking forward to seeing everything you do with this,” Kardashian said, before sharing another surprise and telling Wiley she sent her more SKIMS products for her to enjoy.

Earlier in the show, Wiley also talked about her “not huge” recovery process after the shoot. “From being a normal 22-year-old girl, and then one day you wake up and it’s like you can’t use the bathroom, you can’t walk. Everything is so different,” she told Hudson (42).
“Especially because the first few months I’m so focused on physical recovery. And so it was only after so many months that I could even think about recovery, like, my mental recovery,” she tearfully added, referring to her mental state after the incident.

After Kardashian’s video message, Hudson presented Wiley with two bags full of SKIMS products, which left the guest visibly emotional.
“Just knowing that she knows my name is crazy to me,” Wiley said in response to the video message.
“It’s like I’m a real person to her, you know. And to see that she worked hard for all this. It’s nice to see that something so beautiful can come out of something so awful.”
Show Jennifer Hudson airs on weekdays, with the episode featuring Wiley and Kardashian airing on Wednesday, October 4.
