King Charles and Princess Kate beam as they pose with Camilla and William in show of strength after ‘racism’ storm

KING Charles and Princess Kate shone tonight as they performed together and posed with Queen Camilla and Prince William.

The royals shared the laughs at a pre-Christmas event for 500 members of the diplomatic corps – in their first appearance together since the Scobie saga began.

An early Dutch version of Omid Scobie’s hatchet-job book Endgame suggests that Kate and Charles were the two royals who commented on the skin color of Harry and Meghan’s first child, Archie.

Royal experts refuted the venomous claims – and Scobie was blasted in the autumn for making excuses about how the names were included in the Dutch translation.

But Kate and Charles were beaming tonight as they met for the first time since the claims and posed in a palace room in 1844.

The Queen wore a cream embroidered Fiona Clare Evening Dress, Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, Garter Sash and Star, with a Queen Mother diamond brooch and the late Queen’s diamond bracelet.

The Princess of Wales wore a Jenny Packham dress, Royal Family Lovers Knot Tiara earrings and Kate Queen Greville diamond earrings.

The late Queen was reported to have borrowed the Lover’s Knot tiara for Diana’s wedding day, but she chose to wear the Spencer family tiara instead.

The diamond and pearl piece was made in 1914 for Queen Mary.

The royal couple’s public appearance came after aides said Charles and the princess were continuing with “business as usual” after the game.

Royal sources strongly condemned the claims of racism, calling them “outrageous” and “false defamation”, as Buckingham Palace understood it was “considering all options”.

“There was no rush to make a decision and there will certainly be no knee-jerk reaction,” an insider told the Mirror.

In a bid to rise above the current racial debate, Kate is also hosting a charity Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey as a senior government minister praised the “dignity” and “loveliness” of both the princess and her father-in-law.

William and Kate similarly shrugged off the drama brewing around them as they received a standing ovation at the Royal Variety Performance held at the Royal Albert Hall last week.

It was the first time the royal couple had been seen since the royal “racist” row.

As they entered the hall, the crowd cheered and clapped as the couple took their seats.

King Charles also put on a brave face as he attended the COP28 environmental conference in Dubai last week.

Scobie previously defended himself on This Morning, saying: “I wrote and edited an English version of the book with one publisher, which is then licensed to other publishers.

“Obviously I don’t speak Italian, German, French, Dutch or any other language that came out.

– I’m frustrated like everyone else.

He added: “I never handed in a book that had their names in it. I can only speak for my version.

“I’m frustrated, but I wouldn’t say I’m upset about it.”

Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan have yet to comment on the “racism” row and “have been urged to break their deafening silence”.
