Kiran Kumar was born on 20 October 1953 in Mumbai (70 years old; as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Libra. Kiran completed his education from Daly College, Indore and went to RD National College, Bandra, Mumbai for his graduation. After graduation, Kiran studied acting at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTTI) in Pune.

Kiran Kumar belongs to a Kashmiri Hindu family. He was the grandson of Wazir Wazarat of Gilgit. His father Jeevan Kumar is an Indian actor. Little is known about his mother. Kiran has a brother Bhushan Jeevan and two sisters Nikki Jeevan and Rikki Ugra.

He is married to former Gujarati actress, stylist and consultant Sushma Verma. The couple has two sons: actors Shaurya Kumar and Vikas Kumar. They also have a daughter, Srishti Kumar, who runs a jewelry and clothing brand “Shush & Shish”.

Profession

Kumar started his acting career in 1960 with a guest appearance in Shimla Love. However, he made his starring debut in 1974 with the film Azad Mohabbat. After the release of films like Jungle Mein Mangal, Kiran found his career affected and after a slump, he chose to work in Gujarati films. He soon rose to fame in the Gujarati film industry and earned the title of ‘Bachhan of Gujarati Films’. Rakesh Roshan brought him back to Hindi cinema with the film “Khudgarz” and he went on to play negative roles in films like “Tezaab” and “Khuda Gawah”. His portrayal of the villain earned him several accolades.

Kiran has also appeared in several television serials including “Zindagi”, “Ghutan”, “Sahil”, “Manzil”, “Grihasti”, “Katha Sagar”, “Aur Phir Ek Din”, “Papa”, “Miilee”, “Aur Phir Ek Din” and “Agneepath”. He is a core committee member of CINTAA (Cinema and Television Artists Association). He is part of the ‘Superstars Ka Jalwa’ campaign, which brings together the entire Hindi film and television industry to raise funds for CINTAA.
