“He was such a great husband and such a great dad, and I think I fell into a situation where I thought the grass was greener somewhere else,” Kris Jenner admitted of ex Robert Kardashian Sr.
Kris Jenner is proud of many things in her life, but there is one moment that is overshadowed by shame.
During Thursday’s episode The KardashiansKris, 67, opened up to daughter Khloé Kardashian about cheating on her father, Robert Kardashian Sr., with football player-turned-animator Todd Waterman in 1989, and why she felt it was her “biggest regret in life.”
The revelation came while the two were talking about Khloé’s ex Tristan Thompson, with the Good American founder, 39, asking her mom, “How were you thinking when you cheated?” She added: “When you were doing it with my dad, and you had four kids and you had a family? Yeah, I know you were really young…”
Kris responded calmly, explaining that “being really young and stupid is something that plays a part because you don’t really understand the consequences of your actions.”

Khloé still didn’t quite understand so she asked her mom again, “But what wasn’t my dad doing that made you want to look elsewhere?”
Kris admitted at the time: “I don’t know because he was such a great husband and such a great dad, and I think I fell into a situation where I thought the grass was greener somewhere else, and I made a big mistake. That’s my biggest regret in life.”
Kris opened up further in the confessional interview, explaining why she hopes her daughter will think twice before finalizing her relationship with Tristan, who is the father of Khloé’s daughter True, 5, and son Tatum, 13 months.
“When I got divorced, Robert and I became best friends. We talked on the phone all day, helped each other with things all the time, and I was sorry,” Kris explained. “I meant, Wow, what was I thinking? So I want Khloé to be very careful when she makes decisions like that and has to let someone go.”

In their conversation, Kris told Khloé that while she may regret cheating, she’s also happy with how things turned out in the end.
“I’m not proud of the way I acted at the time, but you know what? Everything happens for a reason,” she said. “I really live my life thinking that God has a plan, and if this whole thing hadn’t happened, there would never have been Kendall and Kylie. [Jenner].”
Kris was married to Robert Sr. from July 1978 to March 1991. Together they had four children: Kourtney, Kim, Khloé and Robert Jr.

Kris met Caitlyn (who publicly came out as transgender in 2015) in 1990, a year before her divorce from Robert Sr. was finalized.
In a recent interview with Timerevealed Kris that the two “hit it off right off the bat, and we got married five and a half months later.”
“I was in love with her, because she was very different from me. But yes, I would have to say, it was love at first sight,” she added.

Kris and Caitlyn married in April 1991, a month after her divorce from Robert Sr. was finalized. The couple – who have daughters Kendall, 27, and Kylie, 26 – were together for 22 years when they announced their split in 2013. (Their divorce was finalized in December 2014)
After Kris and Robert’s divorce, the former remained close friends as he jumped into the national spotlight when he acted as the attorney for close friend OJ Simpson during his infamous 1994 murder trial. He was later diagnosed with esophageal cancer in July 2003 and died less than two months later on September 30, 2003, aged 59.
