This comes weeks after the company filed a report with the Securities and Exchange Commission after it said it was hit by a cyber attack.
In the filing, the company said it was “experiencing certain operational disruptions” related to its website, “including online ordering in parts of the United States.”
The company said it was notified of “unauthorized activity on a portion of its information technology systems” on Nov. 29 and said it was working with “external cybersecurity experts” to “respond and mitigate the impact of the incident” and restore online ordering. It also said federal law enforcement had been notified of the incident.
Krispy Kreme to Give Out Free Donuts and ‘I Voted’ Stickers on Election Day
The donut company has already had a busy year, announcing in October that it would partner with McDonald’s to sell some Krispy Kreme products at their locations.
The companies announced that select Chicago locations will begin serving the donuts in October, with plans to expand to 1,000 McDonald’s restaurants by the end of 2024 and eventually to 12,000 locations by the end of 2026.
Krispy Kreme is no stranger to deals. It also launched a buy-one-get-one-for-13-cents offer in October as an offer for shoppers to celebrate Friday the 13th.
