Kristen Bell Shares Touching Tribute for Her ‘Love’ Dax Shepard’s 49th Birthday: ‘Happy’ That ‘I Found You

Dax Shepard is someone Kristen Bell doesn’t take for granted.

On Tuesday, the actress marked her husband’s 49th birthday with a touching tribute on Instagram, which included a lengthy caption in which she applauds Armchair expert host’s skills as a father and life partner with a video montage featuring some adorable footage of their family.

“Happy birthday my love 💜🎉🥳,” Bell, 43, wrote in the caption as she listed some of Shepard’s many endearing quirks, including his newly developed use of a “menu reading light,” his impressive diet of “175g of protein a day,” and he boasted that he “once had hiccups for 72 hours”.

She added that Shepard, with whom she shares daughters Lincoln, 10, and Delta, 8, “taught our daughter how to change a tire,” “always teases the kids before bed” and “never hesitates when I ask him to participate in dress-up parties .”

Bell then noticed how it was Parenthood The alum also “loves her friends fiercely” as she added, “I will never be able to articulate how happy I am that you were born and that I found you.”

In the video montage, Good place the actress included some hilarious shots of Shepard laying in the sun, using her phone’s flashlight to read the menu, and fixing one of her daughter’s bikes, as well as some cute photos of the couple. There’s also a “deep sense of respect,” Bell said, that has helped them work through conflicts.

“Understanding that your partner was once a small person is the best thing you can do,” she told the paper.

She explained, “Sometimes, if we’re ever on the verge of an argument, one of us will say — usually it’s Dax — ‘I feel like 8-year-old Dax right now.’ And I can see him like I see my kids, which is in a very different way, and say, ‘Oh yeah, you’re a little person who’s had trauma and triggers and it’s not about me.'”
