Cardi B Says She and Offset Haven’t Reconciled Despite Having Sex on New Year’s Eve: ‘We’re Not Together’

Cardi B and Offset rang in the new year together amid their ongoing relationship drama.

After the fans recordings as the rap superstar, 31, and the Migos member, 32, celebrated New Year’s together at a club in Miami, Cardi B took to social media to clarify the status of their relationship, having previously confirmed their split in December.

In the now expired Spaces live on X (formerly Twitter) filmed by fans, the “WAP” rapper confirmed that they spent the holidays together, but admitted that she won’t consider their relationship reconciled until they work out their issues as a couple and individually.

The Grammy winner started the live chat by referencing a viral clip of her dancing next to him Run it artist, whom she married in 2017. “I want to be clear with you because you make your own assumptions and I just wanted you to hear it from the horse’s mouth. Was I at the club with my baby’s father yesterday? That. Was I cheated yesterday? Absolutely, honey.”

Timeline of Cardi B and Offset’s breakup

Cardi B (whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar) added that she and Offset were “vibing” and “having a good time,” then opened up about how the two — who have both performed at different venues in Miami Beach earlier that evening – ended up partying together. “We were both in the same club and it was really awkward. Like, I’m in my department, he’s in his,” she explained. “So it’s like, ‘Dude, just fucking come here. Let’s just chill. We’re having a good time.’”

After the “Bongos” singer clarified what happened on Sunday, she spoke candidly about why she doesn’t consider herself and Offset — with whom she shares daughter Kulture Kiari, 5, and son Wave Set, 2 — an item at the moment.

“I feel at the point where we are in our relationship – we’ve been together for seven years, we’ve been married for seven years – I don’t think we’re back together,” the hip-hop star admitted. “The answer to a reunion is not a good night at the club and a fucking night out. We have to work on our s—, we have to work on our communication, there are things he needs to work on, there are things I need to work on.”

Cardi B went on to say that she believes the two still love each other, but admits that one night out “doesn’t solve the problems” in their marriage. “It’s a fun night, then guess what, the next day we’re fighting, the next day I’m blocking. Next thing you know, we don’t talk for four days. I don’t want to continue with that cycle,” she said.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper wrapped up her news to fans by revealing that she and Offset (whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus) are in couples therapy. “That’s why I say we’re not together until we solve our problems,” she said. “If it goes well, then we will be together again. If it’s not going well, then it’s not going well, but I always want to keep a healthy relationship.”

New Year’s Eve wasn’t the first time in recent weeks that the musicians have linked up since their split. Just a few days ago, fans saw them together in New York.

An emotional Cardi B says Offset ‘does me dirty after so many years’ amid latest split

News of their split broke in early December when Cardi B shared on Instagram Live that she’s been “alone for a minute.”

“But I was afraid… I’m not afraid, I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today was, like, a sign,” she told fans. “I am curious about a new life, a new beginning. And yes… I’m excited.”

Shortly after the star opened up about the status of her marriage to the fellow hitmaker, a source told PEOPLE that the couple’s relationship has been “tumultuous.” He said: “They broke up and got back together and broke up again a lot more than the public saw.”

However, the insider also added, “They really had a great time together.”
