Kriti was born on July 27, 1990 in New Delhi, India. Although she is not from film and television, her acting skills are very good. She has been interested in acting since her school days and always wanted to be an actress. When she was studying in college, she entered a website competition and her sister Nupur Sanon clicked and sent her photo. Luckily, she won that online website competition and famous Indian photographer Dabboo Ratnani gave her a free portfolio. She also signed a one-year contract with a well-known modeling agency. She is an excellent model and the first choice of many fashion designers such as Ritu Beri, Niki Mahajan and Suneet Varma. Kriti also did well in studies and even got two job offers through internships, but she refused to pursue a career in modeling and acting. She gained a lot of popularity in a very short time.

She was educated at Delhi Public School, RK Puram, Delhi and received her B.Tech (B.Tech) in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. She started her career as a model and made her mark at various fashion weeks such as Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2010, Chennai International Fashion Week 2012, India International Jewelry Week 2012, etc.
In 2014, she got her breakthrough role as an actress in Telugu film 1: Nenokkadine as Sameera opposite Mahesh Babu. In the same year, she made her Bollywood debut in the film Heropanti, in which she played the lead role of Dimpy opposite Tiger Shroff. The film received positive reviews from the audience.
