Kumar Varun is an Indian comedian, actor, screenwriter and quiz master who created a YouTube channel called Random Chikibum in 2015 along with Rahul Subramaniam. He is also known for appearing in several comedy skits produced by All India Bakchod (AIB).

Kumar Varun was born on Tuesday, November 19, 1986, in Arrah, Bihar, India (36 years old as of 2022). His zodiac sign is Scorpio.
Kumar Varun completed his education from DAV Centenary Public School, Noida, Uttar Pradesh in 2003; from science stream; he chose non-medical science stream in class 10th. In 2004, he enrolled at Shanmugha College of Arts, Science, Technology and Research (SASTRA), Tanjore, Tamil Nadu, where he received his bachelor’s degree in engineering in bioinformatics in 2008.
He achieved 9.6 CGPA in Engineering. Varun said in an interview that he chose science and pursued engineering because it was his grandfather’s wish. Talking about this, he said,
I was raised by my grandfather and I chose science and pursued engineering because it was his desire. The situation at home was such that I had to go out to work as soon as possible and start making money. You know engineering does guarantee you a good job in India. So that’s the motivation. “
Kumar Varun appeared for the Common Admission Test (CAT) and scored 99.3 points. In 2011, he entered the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi University to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA). He received his degree in 2013.

After completing his engineering course, Kumar Varun started working as a systems engineer at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). He worked there from September 2008 to May 2011. While at TCS, Kumar Varun served as a strategic advisor to the Government of India, where he was responsible for implementing better software and technology to enhance the government’s core operational capabilities. In April 2012, he joined Club Mahindra in Mumbai and worked as a summer intern at GMC until June 2012. Kumar Varun’s career as a comedian started when he met Rahul Subramaniam while working in Mahindra & Mahindra. Kumar said in an interview that he met Rahul after chairing an event organized by a business school in Mumbai. Speaking about it, he said.
Rahul came to me in the office. He’s on a different team, I’m on a different team. I became popular in the office after I hosted an event and did some impersonations and comedy routines as a presenter at a business school. Rahul was on vacation on the day of the event and he was told about me and later he approached me and asked me if I had ever done a stand-up comedy. “
Rahul contacted Varun when he was working at DBS Bank and convinced him to join him in the comedy hunt of “Only Much Louder”. To compete, Kumar and Rahul created their YouTube channel Random Chikibum in 2015, which as of January 2023 has over 708,000 subscribers. He also has a YouTube channel of the same name, which has more than 23,000 subscribers as of January 2023. In an interview, Kumar spoke about his first video with Rahul and said it was based on an interview between the boss and the candidate; however, the video was blocked for exceeding the time stipulated by Comedy Hunter Set aside. The pair then posted their first video, “Kata Sky,” on YouTube and sent it to Comedy Hunt as their official entry. Kumar and Rahul later won the match. Talking about this, he said:
We collaborated and started writing a skit script for the competition. The first script was based on an interview in which I was the boss and Rahul was the candidate. That never came to fruition, and the script was turned into a six-minute video, while Comedy Hunter requested a two- to three-minute video. So we gave it up. Later, Rahul said he had a script for a call center and we went ahead and created Kata Sky, which became the first video on our YouTube channel. “
Kumar and Rahul uploaded the YouTube series Random Daftar on Random Chikibum in 2016. In the series, Kumar Varun plays a character named Madan Mathews. In 2016, he played a character named Atul Naak in Sumukhi Suresh’s YouTube series Behti Naak.
