Kunchacko Boban made his debut in 1997 with the film Aniyathipraavu, directed by Fazil and co-starring Shalini; however, he made his debut as a child actor in the 1981 film Dhanya, produced by his father. His film Aniyathipraavu was a huge hit and set a new record for Malayalam films.
