Kusha Kapila is an Indian content writer, actor and social media personality who works for iDiva, a popular Indian media platform. She is best known for playing the fictional character “Billy Massey”.

Kusha Kapila was born in Delhi on Tuesday, September 19, 1989 (age 34 years; as of 2023). She grew up in North Delhi and went to school in South Delhi. Kusha studied English Literature at Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi. She then went to the National Fashion Institute to pursue a bachelor’s degree in design. During college, Kusha joined theater and performed on the street. Initially, she wanted to be a journalist. After graduation, she started working as a sales trainee at Bhartiya International. She worked there for 3 months and joined Chisell Effects in Noida as a product design intern.

In August 2023, weeks after she announced her separation from estranged spouse Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia, she posted a heartfelt message on Instagram. She said in the letter that she had been grieving since the separation. Kusha wrote,
It’s a weird thing, this sadness or whatever version of it I’m currently experiencing. While I was overcome by its heaviness—which I imagine boob day feels like—I was also oddly dwarfed by it, which felt like a wounded nail on my little toe. It’s almost like a big bang in motion, except it’s on a microscope slide. “

Kusha Kapila started her career in 2013 as a fashion journalist for Apparel Online, a Delhi-based company. She then worked as a trend analyst and content writer for Fashion Forward Trends. In May 2014, she joined Razorfish as a copywriter. She subsequently worked as a digital content executive and content developer. In 2016, she switched to Times Internet as a fashion editor. She then joined iDiva as a writer, where she was promoted to fashion editor. At iDiva, Kusha started making videos for their Facebook page.
While making the video, she created the character “Billi Masi,” which became a hit and propelled Kapila into the spotlight. Subsequently, she portrayed many other characters, which were well received by the audience. Kusha has also worked with many well-known faces in Bollywood, including Abishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor.
