Kyle Richards Says Her Weight Loss Transformation Isn’t a ‘Revenge Body,’ She Works Out ‘For Me’

Kyle Richards is feeling better than ever after putting her health first.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills The 54-year-old star recently opened up about the physical transformation she’s made after committing to a better diet and exercise regimen.

“I remember when I was in my 20s and 30s and I look better than I did then, and that’s after four kids,” she told Us Weekly. “It’s definitely never too late. When I was younger, I used to exercise to lose weight. Now it’s for me — first of all, my mental health. The fact that it makes me look good is just a bonus.”

Richards said she began focusing on her health journey in 2022 after having a breast reduction. She was unable to exercise for eight weeks while she recovered and eventually gave up.

“I was on holiday in Europe at the time, eating pasta and drinking wine and cocktails. I didn’t recognize myself until the end of the trip,” she recalled. “I also just lost my best friend to suicide and I wasn’t taking care of myself. AND [it was] which makes me feel even more depressed. After we left, I said, ‘That’s it. I won’t eat bad carbs — no sugar, no pasta, no bread, no alcohol. And I will practice every day.”

The results came extremely quickly for Halloween is ending actress and admitted that going alcohol-free “made a huge difference in my skin and the way I felt.”

In addition to the diet, Richards worked out hard in the gym. Although she’s been working out since she was 15, she said she’s learned to change her fitness routine based on “what my body needs.” Instead of her typical hiking and spinning classes, the reality TV star has now incorporated weightlifting, hot yoga and running, noting that the exercise helps clear her head.

Richards’ recent progress in her weight loss journey also comes as she is going through a divorce from Mauricio Umanski. However, he does not classify his new appearance as a “revenge body”.

“It was certainly not intended as a revenge body. It’s meant to be a body that feels good,” she boasted, noting that she’s now done with the weight loss after reaching 117 lbs.

“I like the way I feel and the way I look,” Richards added.
