Kylie Kelce Is Going to Quote Jason’s ‘Not Asking for Permission’ Comment to Get a Cat

After weeks of trying to talk husband Jason Kelce into getting a cat, Kylie Kelce finally found a way to make it happen.

On Wednesday’s episode of the podcast New heights with Travis and Jason Kelce, the brothers talked about Jason’s shirtless escapades at Sunday’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills. The NFL tight end teased in a clip posted to Instagram that it was “pure pandemonium” when he watched his brother take off his shirt and jump into the crowd after Travis’ touchdown.

“I’ll tell you, man, if you don’t run for president, then this is all going to go down,” Travis, 34, joked.

Jason, 36, replied: “There is nothing political about this. This is just a man in his element with his fellow Bills mob enjoying the middle of winter, that’s what this is.”

When Travis said he would like the cameras to catch Jason’s wife Kylie’s reaction to the moment, Jason said he had planned it and had warned his wife beforehand.

“I’m not going to lie, I warned Kylie,” Jason admitted. “I said, ‘The minute we get into that suit, I take my shirt off and I jump out of that suit,’ and she said, ‘Jason, don’t you dare.’

He continued, “I’m like, ‘Hey, I’m just letting you know what’s going on. I’m not asking for permission, I’m doing this.'”

“Once a Kelce man is determined, nothing can stop him,” Travis interjected.

That part of the conversation stuck with Kylie, who realized she could use her husband’s words to her own advantage.

“‘I’m not asking for permission, I’m doing this.’ – the exact quote I’m going to say when I grab my keys to go get the cat,” she commented on a clip the podcast posted on Instagram. The comment has since garnered over 55,000 likes.

New heights‘ The Instagram account then posted a screenshot of Kylie’s comment with the caption, “Congratulations on your new pet @jason.kelce 🐈😅”

In the previous episode New heights in December, Kylie and Travis discussed how they could work together to get Jason involved in adding a cat to their family.

“No, here’s the deal, I told Jason I wanted to get a cat,” Kylie said. “And he told me no. And I feel like you might like cats now.”

Jason and Travis also talked about why Jason’s Sunday antics were especially funny that night — it was the night Jason and Kylie met Travis’ girlfriend Taylor Swift.

“She was already telling me to be on my best behavior because we’re with Taylor,” Jason laughed before adding, “I’m like, ‘Kylie, when I met you, the first time I met you, I was passed out drunk and fell asleep in a bar, this is part of the charm.”

The NFL bros joked about Jason’s bad behavior, with Jason claiming he makes “the best first impression.”

“By best first impression, you mean worst first impression,” Travis said as the two burst out laughing.

At the Jan. 21 game, Swift was seen sitting with the Kelce family — including Jason, Kylie and Donna Kelce.

The retired bank executive and grandmother of three “likes Taylor and thinks she’s very sweet and down-to-earth,” a source close to the family told PEOPLE last year.

“It was a ride. That’s for sure,” said Donna (71) in November. “Sometimes I feel like I’m on another planet. I ask myself: ‘What has my life turned into?’
