Lala Kent Teases a ‘Very, Very Difficult Season’ of VPR with a ‘Divide’ the Cast ‘Cannot Repair’ (Exclusive)

Filming of the 11th season Vanderpump Rules he concluded and Lala Kent felt a great sense of relief.

Kent, 33, told PEOPLE that she is “so happy” that the latest season of the Bravo series is over as she attended an event for the Brent Shapiro Foundation in Beverly Hills on Saturday.

“It’s been a very, very difficult season,” she says of the cast, who are returning for the first time since the Tom Sandoval and Rachel “Raquel” Leviss cheating scandal unfolded in the Season 10 finale, and tensions rose during the three-part reunion . “We’ve never had a split like this in a group that you literally can’t fix.”

Kent says she’s “in such a healing place” that the actual recording process is “a bit of a mind fog”.

“I don’t remember much about the season,” she shares, adding, “I was just very much in my zone this season, which is very different from last year. I was tearing everyone’s heads off.”

After Scandoval – which was created by the breakup of Sandoval (41) and his girlfriend Ariana Madix in March, with whom he had been for nine years and intensified by the subsequent discovery of his months-long affair with her close friend – the whole VPR the cast was a mess.

On Sandoval’s new podcast, Everyone loves Tomthe Bravo star revealed that the discovery of his affair with a co-star and the backlash that followed drove him to consider suicide.

He recalled meeting Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington days before he died by suicide in 2017 when he discovered he could finally understand how a person could make such a choice.

“He seemed happy or, I don’t know, he was just alive, energetic on the phone. I saw him. I said, ‘Oh my God, it’s Chester.’ Literally, days later, he died,” Sandoval said in the premiere episode of the podcast. “I could never figure out why, but once you get into that headspace, it’s like a domino effect. Your world starts to collapse in on itself and you can’t see beyond your feelings. Your peripheral is leaving. Your feeling like, thinking about the future, like your ability to snap out of it is disappearing. And there were moments where, you know, I felt very, very close.”

Kent told PEOPLE on Saturday that she hasn’t listened to her colleague’s podcast yet, but thinks it’s “awesome” that he started it.

In the podcast, we also saw Sandoval talk about how his infidelity with Madix, 38, taught him some valuable life lessons.

“It was a learning experience, you know, going through everything and what I was doing and taking the time to actually see the consequences of my actions,” he said. “And, you know, when you’re in a scenario like that and you’re so emotionally wrapped up in your feelings, you don’t think logically and you’re just fucking selfish.”

While the scandal forced Leviss (29) to withdraw from filming VPR, Sandoval decided to return for the most recent season. He and Leviss parted ways after the controversy, and he revealed on a podcast episode that he hadn’t spoken to her since late June.

While he revealed how deeply the backlash affected him, he also said that when Leviss was in a treatment facility in the spring — she voluntarily sought “mental health and trauma therapy,” her rep confirmed, after the affair — she found herself quite lonely. because it was difficult to get in touch with her.

“I was kind of at her beck and call in a sense because you couldn’t have your phone in there. No access to anything. And so I had to wait for her call, which can only happen twice, once a day,” he said in the podcast.

Breaking her silence in August, Leviss, 29, told Bethenny Frankel that she is “disappointed” in herself when she looks back on her actions.

She revealed that she would “do everything differently” if she could and that she regrets “a lot”.

“That’s not the person I want to be. I wasn’t happy. It really hurt.”

Levis also said she decided not to return for season 11 VPR despite what she thought.

The source later confirmed Party tonight that she will instead remain “focused on her mental health journey.”

As for Kent, she expressed her regret for her and her colleagues’ attack on Leviss during VPR reunion in season 10, after which Leviss checked himself into a mental health facility

“At the time of the reunion, after I left, I felt dirty,” she told TMZ. “After watching the bathtub last night [Leviss] I finally had a breakdown – just like a man, because to me it’s a reality TV show – I feel like we’re all, kind of, playing the same game, but when I was watching it, I was like, ‘Oh, maybe we’re dealing with someone who maybe doesn’t should be on this type of platform.’”

Kent added of Leviss’ breakdown: “I sat there and said, ‘Oh s—, she needs real help,’ and I hope she gets it.”
