As the premiere date of Hulu’s Mike approaches, there is renewed interest in cast members Trevante Rhodes, Harvey Keitel and Laura Harrier, who play key roles in the Mike Tyson biopic. Tyson’s life inside and outside the ring will be the focus of a limited series, which will follow his controversial but hugely successful career.
This series, directed by Steven Rogers, will premiere on Hulu on August 25, 2022. The series synopsis is as follows:
“MIKE is a new program from creator/writer Steven Rogers and the people behind I, Tony, as well as showrunner Karin Gist, executive producer of Our Kind of People. The eight-episode limited series explores Tyson’s turbulent boxing career and personal life, from world-famous athlete to outcast and back again. The series deals with class in America, racism in America, celebrity and the power of the media, sexism, wealth disparity, the promise of the American Dream and, ultimately, our own participation in creating Mike’s story through the lens of Mike Tyson.”

Mike’s ensemble seems star-studded and the inclusion of Laura Harrier is another step in the right direction. From the age of 17, the American actress and model became a sensation. She was born on March 28, 1990 in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Evanston, Illinois where she attended Evanston Township High School.
Her interest in acting began when her mother enrolled her in acting classes as a child. As a child, she had a speech disorder, due to which she had low self-esteem, and acting classes helped her overcome this. Despite her involvement in theater and theater, she became interested in fashion during high school. At the age of 17, she began modeling and moved to New York to study art history at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
Her modeling career was a great success, and she was represented by prestigious names such as IMG Models, Wilhelmina Models and Elite Model Management. She began acting in commercials and student films after becoming dissatisfied with simple modeling jobs. Laura Harrier studied acting at the William Esper Studio for two years.
Laura Harrier made her big debut in the soap opera One Life to Live (2013). Harrier made her cinematic debut in The Last Five Years after a few cameo appearances (2014). She subsequently rose to international fame in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) as Liz Allan, Peter’s high school sweetheart. She was also a key player in the highly acclaimed film BlacKkKlansman (2018).
She also participated in films such as Balance, Not Symmetry, The Starling and Spider-Man: No Way Home (cameo). She’s now set to star as Robin Givens in a new Hulu show, and her character seems pretty interesting in the teaser. Mike will air on Hulu on August 25, 2022.
