Biography of Leland Chapman
Duane Chapman Sr. and his first wife, La Fonda Sue Darnall, raised him. He was born in Groom and spent much of his childhood in Pampa, Texas. In his early adolescence, he moved to Colorado. He had a habit of running away from home and skipping school. He often joined a criminal group. He had to be placed in a foster family and then in a home for boys. And he ran away from there.
In the end, he moved in with his father. He studied boxing and martial arts, and graduated from high school at the age of 18.

Leland worked for Da Kine Bail Bonds, his father’s bail bonds company. It was primarily a family business, in which many members of his family participated and worked. While working there, he decided to go headhunting, primarily to earn a monetary reward.
He was arrested by Mexican authorities in September 2006. At the time, he was on a bounty hunt with his father, Duane and Tim, and captured the fugitive in Puerto Vallarta. He was detained on the basis of “deprivation of liberty”. They were quickly released on bail, but extradition charges were filed, but Mexico suddenly dropped all charges. He never returned to Mexico.
He then co-founded “Chapbros Media”, a swagger website with his brothers. He left the show in 2012 to start his own bail bond company “Kama’aina Bail Bonds” in Hawaii, where he also ran his father’s bail bond and bounty hunter business after Duane moved to Florida.
He reappeared in “The Dog and Beth: On the Hunt”. However, he rose to fame with the A&E Network show “Dog the Bounty Hunter” and became a well-known showbiz personality in the United States. He moved to Alabama with his wife Jaime in 2015 and continues to run a bail bond business.
