Lenny Kravitz is ringing in autumn the only way he knows how – with a giant joke.
The musician, 60, brought back his iconic meme from 2012 to celebrate the new season. In the clip shared on Instagram, Kravitz is seen walking towards the camera in jeans and a leather jacket, with an instantly recognizable chunky knitted scarf draped around his neck.
“Grab your big scarf, it’s the first day of autumn,” he says.
Kravitz captioned the post on Sunday, Sept. 22, “Here we go again…”
The video is a callback to a famous paparazzi photo taken of the star more than ten years ago. In 2012, photos captured Kravitz running errands while wearing a comically oversized brown scarf. The accessory complemented his casual ensemble of jeans, gray boots and a loose purple striped cap.

During an appearance on the channel in September 2018 The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonthe talk show host jokingly mentioned the unforgettable scarf.
“I can’t get away from this,” Kravitz began jokingly. “I live in the Bahamas, I’m used to hot weather and I had to go to the grocery store, I was buying some groceries and I thought I’d put on a little scarf to protect my throat, and that’s the scarf I had.”
“But Lenny, this isn’t a scarf, it’s a blanket!” Fallon, 50, responded.

“That was the day I thought I was going to post it and I had no idea there was going to be paparazzi and that’s it now,” Kravitz said.
The singer went on to explain how every year Internet pranksters seem to Photoshop the scarf bigger and bigger.
“Here’s the thing about the internet though, that’s the problem – the scarf just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger,” he said, laughing as Fallon showed the audience a photoshopped image of a scarf so big the singer’s head could barely be seen.
