Leo Woodall Is ‘Slowly Getting Used’ to Ditching Tracksuits for the Red Carpet: ‘I Was Not Very Fashion-y’ (Exclusive)

Leo Woodall is still adjusting to the glitz and glamor of life afterWhite lotus.

It’s safe to say that red carpet looks don’t come naturally to the 27-year-old London-born actor, who rose to fame in Season 2 of the HBO series last year and made another splash as the romantic lead in the Netflix series. One day. He credits his stylist, Chris Brown, whom he calls “awesome,” for doing “a lot of the work for me” when it comes to his red carpet moments.

Woodall is a laid-back guy, usually dressed in “sneakers and sweatpants,” he tells PEOPLE in the latest issue, using British slang for sneakers and sweatpants. “Usually, 99% of the time, I comforted through… Whatever the other word is.”

But with the help of his stylist, he’s had some seriously fashionable moments in the year since shockingly becoming cheeky Essex boy Jack White lotus.

Between a trip to the 2023 Emmys in January, the 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards — where he and the star-studded cast accepted the award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama Series — and some chic street style while out with his girlfriend and former co-star Meghann Fahy , Woodall gets the hang of things, but he’s in no rush to do so.

Woodall also admits that he and his White lotus character — who shocked audiences with a lively plot involving his supposed “uncle” (Tom Hollander) — have little in common when it comes to their style.

“I’m recognizable because I dress like my character,” he says as he describes the life changes he’s faced since the role that launched his career.

He feels “pretty lucky” about his time on the Mike White hit.

“I had a very fun role in the series. And the show — it was so beautiful that so many people watched it and liked it. And I was very proud to be a part of it,” he says, adding, “But I also maintained a level of anonymity, which I really held onto.”
