Today, in a candid statement on social media, he revealed how he’s been doing, and also announced an expanded edition of his second album, Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent.

I’ve been working with some amazing professionals to help me learn and get better dealing with my Tourette’s issues and anxiety. I’m really happy to say that I’ve noticed a significant improvement in both since I decided to take some time off in June.”

Lewis admitted he was blown away by the outpouring of support from fans after his initial withdrawal from the public eye and said his comeback has made him more excited than ever.

He also thanked fans for their support and enjoyment of his candid Netflix documentary that exposed his struggles with Tourette’s and anxiety.

“After some input on whether or not it was right, I decided it would be a shame for these extra five songs, which are so incredibly special to me, to sit on my hard drive, never to see the light of day.”

Lewis then revealed that he was looking forward to the release of the extended edition of his second album tomorrow.

He continued: “For now, I’m going to continue to take some time to continue to take care of myself, maybe write music and take a moment to reflect on some of the most amazing years of my life. I want to make absolutely sure that I’m 100 percent ready before I go back to I need more performances and I’m doing what I love more than anything!

“These songs mean everything in the world to me and I’d be bummed if I couldn’t share them. I hope this inspires you until we get in a room and sing them together one day very soon!”

Fans were delighted with the turn of events, but urged him to take his time.

One commented: “Get well soon mate! The world misses you x.”

A third wrote: “Omgggg!!!!! I miss you soooooo much.”

In her emotional statement in June, the Scottish star, 26, told her followers she would not be returning to the stage “for the foreseeable future”.

In a lengthy post on social media, he said his performance at Worthy Farm made it “obvious that I need to spend a lot more time getting my mental and physical health back in order, so that I can do all the things I love for a long time to come.”

After performing his song Bruises, he admitted he was struggling with his voice, telling the crowd: “I’ll be honest, I’m starting to lose my voice up here, but we’re going to keep going and we’re going to go all the way.”

“You just all need to sing with me as loud as you can, if that’s okay?”

He went on to apologize to the audience, as well as the Eavis family who organize Glastonbury, as his voice began to fail – but the ocean of fans responded by cheering him on and chanting “Oh Lewis Capaldi”.

He closed his set with the Grammy-nominated Someone You Loved, telling the crowd “I love you all” and getting emotional as they chanted the lyrics as he struggled to sing some of the notes.
