He went 48 hours into his 28-day addiction treatment program — devastating immediate family and friends

But he left 48 hours into his 28-day addiction treatment program — devastating immediate family and friends.

Liam, 31, died after falling from the balcony of his hotel in Argentina on Wednesday.

A source said: “He tried to beat his addictions once and for all. He really wanted to get his life on track.

“All his loved ones were rooting for him.

“It was horrifying when he only lasted 48 hours of treatment.

“He bravely asked for help, but he couldn’t stay the course.”

Troubled Liam told aides he wanted to beat his addictions for himself, son Bear, seven, and his family.

He checked into a £5,000-a-night center in south-west London and began a rigorous detox programme.

But sources say the star hardly left her room and didn’t attend classes with others seeking help.

He started taking chlordiazepoxide, a sedative used to treat alcohol and drug withdrawal symptoms.

“It got so bad that last year the management asked him not to drive, it was dangerous.

“His loved ones hid his keys, but he just bought another car.

There is some comfort in his loved ones knowing that he was aware of how much everyone was rooting for him.

“He faced his problems head on, hoping to get back on track.”
