Liam Payne Had Multiple Drugs, Including 'Pink Cocaine,' in Body at Time of Death: Report

Liam Payne had several drugs in his system, including “pink cocaine,” at the time of his death on October 16 at the age of 31.

Sources confirmed to ABC News that a partial autopsy revealed the One Direction alum “had multiple substances in his system” when he fell from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

According to the ABC report, one of the substances found in Payne’s body was “pink cocaine,” a recreational drug that generally includes a combination of methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA — not necessarily cocaine — according to the National Capital Poison Center.

Sources also told ABC News that an “improvised aluminum pipe” used to ingest the drugs was found in Payne’s hotel room.

Liam Payne Likely Obtained Drugs From Hotel Employee Before Death, Charges Could Follow: Source (Exclusive)

According to reports, the body of the British singer will remain in Argentina until the autopsy is completed.

Before Payne’s death, the hotel’s front desk clerk called 911 after becoming concerned about Payne’s behavior, according to local outlets La Nacion and Clarinas well as Sky News.

According to the translation La Nacion a transcript of the call, which was made at 5:01 p.m. local time, shortly before Payne’s death, about 10 minutes later, the employee said the “Sunshine” musician was drunk and assumed he was “under the influence of alcohol and drugs.” They insisted that someone “urgently” had to come to the place.

“What I’m asking is for someone to come urgently,” the worker said, according to a transcript shared by the BBC.

A person on the other end of the line confirmed that SAME (Buenos Aires’ public emergency medical services system) was on the way, according to the publication. Payne’s name was not mentioned during the call.

Sky News reported that a hotel employee said the guest’s life could be “at risk” because he was “in a room with a balcony”.

“We’re afraid he might do something that could endanger his life,” explained the manager — who said his name was “Esteban” — according to a translated call released by the publication, which also revealed Payne was at the hotel ” three days.”

A BBC transcript said the worker said Payne had “smashed the whole room” before he died.

Liam Payne died of multiple injuries and ‘internal and external’ bleeding: preliminary autopsy report

According to a preliminary autopsy report, the “Teardrops” singer died of multiple injuries and “internal and external” bleeding, the National Office of the Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor confirmed to PEOPLE.

Coroners confirmed to PEOPLE that 25 post-mortem injuries were “compatible with those caused by a fall from a height,” adding that “injuries to the head were sufficient to cause death,” while “internal and external bleeding” to the skull, chest, abdomen and limbs they contributed to Payne’s death.
