Linda Bennett had lofty goals when she opened her shoe store in Wimbledon 14 years ago with a budget of $13,000: to encourage British ladies to trade in their practical office flats for glamorous satin low heels and floral mules.
Her goals were achieved and the LK Bennett site is now part of a global chain with estimated annual sales of £32m, giving the 39-year-old an estimated fortune of £1.8m.
