Lindsey Vonn has shared a motivational message as she recovers from previous knee surgeries.
After multiple knee surgeries since retiring in 2019, the 39-year-old Olympic skier shared a series of photos on Instagram documenting her journey to recovery.
She also shared four photos from the post on her Instagram Stories, adding captions to each photo.

In the first photo, Vonn is seen post-surgery in July 2023, where she came one step closer to knee replacement surgery — and enjoyed a few slices of pizza.
She also shared a video compilation of her previous hard falls from the slopes over the years.

Along with several photos from various surgeries, she posted photos with those who have stood by her side over the years — including a sweet photo of her dog lying on her knee.

Lindsey Vonn reveals she is preparing for knee replacement surgery
Vonn concluded the carousel with inspiring photos showing life in recovery, including a shot of her standing without crutches. She concluded the series with a photo and a motivational message “But I got up! And I know you can too! 💪.”

The Olympic gold medalist also wrote an inspiring caption: “I’ve been bruised and broken, but I’ve always come out the other side a better person. No matter how many times I fell, I always got up. I didn’t do it alone though. I am very grateful to have had the support of my friends, family and you, my fans.”
“Knowing that I have people to support me has helped me through my darkest moments,” she continued. “Every day I tried to put one foot in front of the other until it eventually got me back to where I wanted to go… which was usually the top of the mountain 🏔️ 😍.”
“We all go our own way, but if you are injured or going through a difficult time, believe in yourself and know that you will come out of it better and stronger. You have this 💪🏻”, she concluded.

In October, Vonn announced on Instagram that she underwent preparatory surgery in anticipation of knee replacement surgery this coming spring.
In 2019, Vonn underwent surgery to repair a torn lateral collateral ligament (LCL), but continued to have problems with her knee.
“I’ve been dealing with all the damage in my skiing career and trying to manage the pain the best I can,” Vonn wrote on Instagram in July after revealing she was undergoing yet another surgery.
