Lindsie Chrisley Didn't Reach Out to Savannah Following Ex Nic Kerdiles’ Death Out of Respect for Her 'Wishes'

“I know she’s understandably very upset and grieving, and in no way did I want to make it any worse than it already was,” Lindsie explained on her ‘Southern Tea’ podcast on Wednesday

Lindsie Chrisley has not contacted her sister Savannah Chrisley following the death of her ex-fiance Nic Kerdiles.

“Long story short, I didn’t reach out to Savannah,” Lindsie informed listeners on Wednesday’s episode of her podcast. “I know she is understandably very upset and grieving, and I in no way wanted to make the situation any worse than it already was.”

Lindsie previously addressed criticism for not posting a public tribute to her younger sister’s late ex-fiancé on the Sept. 28 episode of PodcastOne Convos with coffee after Savannah’s confirmation on Viall files that the two do not communicate with each other.

Lindsie Chrisley felt ‘disingenuous’ commenting on Nic Kerdiles’ death amid tough times with sister Savannah

“If you were listening Viall files and the things that were said there and then my response to that Convos with coffeeI decided to honor her wishes that she expressed in that Nick Viall podcast guest spot about not having any kind of interference and each other’s personal lives, and I just decided that it was best not only for her but for me to not reach out ”, explained Lindsay.

She continued, “I’ve been in contact with other family members who have been in communication with her and checked in that way, and my heart goes out to her as it goes out to anyone who’s been in that situation.”

“I became estranged from my family when [Savannah’s] the relationship started with Nico,” added Lindsie. “And when I came back into the picture, Nic was still around, but they called off the engagement, and I believe they were boyfriend and girlfriend again for a short time, and then they broke up. So I didn’t have much knowledge or insight into that relationship. I can only speak to what I experienced, which was very minimal interaction.”

However, Lindsie noted of Savannah and Kerdiles’ relationship, “I know they had such love and care for each other and still have, as far as I can tell, a deep love and care for each other so I can understand the whole grieving process.”

As for not releasing a public tribute to Kerdiles, Lindsie echoed her previous sentiments from Convos with coffee. “My understanding is that the family does not want his memory to be overshadowed by the Chrisley family,” she said. “And for that reason, that’s why I didn’t say anything on social media.”

“But only with the events that happened, that Viall Files episode of the podcast, I address it Coffee ConvosI feel like I was in a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation because if I had published anything about it, there would have been a narrative that would have been spun if I had done that,” she said, adding that “another story is being spun.” .

“I don’t want to come off as rude or ever disingenuous or feel like, ‘Oh, well, I’m just hostile or petty.’ None of that is happening,” Lindsie clarified. “It’s just respect for what was said and I respect that. I think that’s all you can do.”

“Obviously, it’s just a sad situation in general. My heart is with everyone,” she added.

Kerdiles died in a motorcycle accident on September 23 at the age of 29. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department told WRKN News 2 at the time that the former NHL pro and Nashville realtor ran a stop sign in a residential area north of Nashville while on his motorcycle around 3:30 a.m.

According to authorities, Kerdiles struck the driver’s side of the BMW and while the other driver appeared to be uninjured, Kerdiles died of his injuries at a nearby hospital.

Savannah shared multiple emotional tributes to Kerdiles on Instagram, including a boomerang of the two sharing a kiss.

“Heaven got the most beautiful angel today… I miss you and I love you. I will forever treasure our last ‘I love you’ messages,” she wrote alongside photos of them on the beach, later posting a more extensive tribute.

Previously, Lindsie revealed in June that she had blocked siblings Savannah, Chase Chrisley and Grayson Chrisley on social media following a recent spat, but said that “everything is fine” between them.

However, a source told PEOPLE that the siblings are “not doing well,” which Savannah confirmed on Viall files. She also claimed that Lindsie and her brother, Kyle Chrisley — both of whom their father, Todd Chrisley, had during a previous marriage — did not treat her mother, Julie Chrisley, as if she were their mother, even though Julie “always treated them as if they were hers.”

During her appearance on Convos with coffee podcast, Lindsie said Savannah’s comments showed a “complete lack of empathy” given that her parents “were divorced [and] went through toxic co-parenting and [hated] one another.”
