Lisa began working as a Senior Market Research Analyst at The Hub Group in Oak Brook, IL. She is a self-taught singer who began studying music at the age of four. At the age of 15, she started learning to play guitar. She started her YouTube channel in 2007. Initially, her mother was reluctant to upload Lisa’s videos to a public platform, so Lisa uploaded the audio of her first four songs. Later, she started using a webcam and then a Macbook camera to shoot videos. In 2014, she uploaded her first Hindi cover of the song “Kabira” from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013).

She participated in the production of the 2016 Grammy Award-winning album Coloring Book. She has also collaborated with DJ Khaled and Big Sean. In 2018, she collaborated with Jamila Woods to voice the theme song for the Emmy-nominated web series Brown Girls. In 2018, she sang a cover of the song “Tareefan” from the movie “Veere Di Wedding”. In an interview, Lisa shared her story about how she got the song, saying:

On May 19, 2018, I posted an Instagram video singing a medley of the songs Tareefan and Let Me Love You. The video caught the attention of Sonam and Rhea Kapoor, who double-clicked the video. “When I was driving back from get off work, I saw Sonam had retweeted this video on her page and suddenly I was struck by the video of her father Anil Kapoor and her brother Harshvardhan Kapoor. The comments were inundated. Ekta Kapoor also retweeted the video on her page. Soon, Rhea sent me a private message on Instagram asking when could I fly to Mumbai at the earliest. It was so surreal; I felt like I was living a Cinderella story. It was top secret; none of my friends knew about it until Sonam posted the video.”
