Lisa Ray was born on April 4, 1972 in Toronto, Canada (age 47 in 2019) as “Lisa Rani Ray”. Her zodiac sign is Aries.
She spent part of her childhood in Calcutta. She was educated at Etobicoke College, Toronto, Canada, Richview College, Toronto, Canada, and Silverthorn College, Toronto, Canada. She came to India as a model but returned to Canada to study journalism. Unfortunately, her mother suffered an accident that made it difficult for her to pursue a career in journalism. She went on to study at the Central School of Speech and Drama, London Center for Drama Studies, Desmond Jones School of Physical Drama and the British American Drama Academy (BADA). She began her modeling career in the 1990s. She appeared in an advertisement for Bombay Dyeing Company, one of India’s largest textile manufacturers. She then caused a stir when she appeared on the cover of Glad Rags. This led to her getting more such modeling projects.
She hosts Star Movies’ television show “Show Biz” with actress/model Kelly Dorji. She then appeared in the music video of late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s song “Aafreen Aafreen”.

She made her Bollywood debut in 2001 with the film “Kasoor”.
She then appeared in the 2002 romantic comedy Indo-Canadian film Bollywood/Hollywood. In 2005, she starred in “Water” (2005), for which she was nominated for an Oscar. The film created a lot of controversy due to its content and could not even be shot in India.
She has worked in Canadian films such as All Hat (2007) and A Stone’s Throw (2006). She also guest-starred in the American TV series Psycho. She hosted the second and fourth seasons of the Canadian reality TV show Top Chef Canada. She made her acting debut in Tamil in 1996 with the film Nethaji.
Lisa made her Telugu debut with the film “Takkari Donga (2002)” and her Kannada debut with the film “Yuvaraja (2004)”.

- Lisa was once rumored to be in a relationship with Sanjay Dutt. Tired of the rumors, she left India and fled to Canada.
- After the release of the film “Dus” (2005), she came into focus again. Rumor has it that she quit the show after her boyfriend beat her black and blue. She has not commented on the rumors.
