Luke Littler raises concerns on Premier League Darts just days before teen is set to play in prestigious tournament

LUKE LITTLER has voiced his concerns ahead of the Premier League Darts in a candid interview following his defeat to Michael van Gerwen.

Littler made a name for himself with his heroic run to the PDC final, where he suffered defeat to Luke Humphries in the performance.

But he bounced back with a win at the Bahrain Masters beating Van Gerwen.

The pair would rematch in the final of the Dutch Darts Masters with Littler conceding defeat this time.

And it comes just as the Premier League is due to start on February 1.

Littler has earned his place in the Premier League line-up after a great run at the World Cup earlier in the year.

But the 17-year-old said: “I hope I haven’t burnt myself for the Premier League next week.

“But I’ll take this as match practice and it goes into my World Cup ranking, but I can’t wait to go to Cardiff.”

Littler avenged his PDC defeat to Luke Humphries in Holland and also beat Gerwyn Price.

But he was beaten by Van Gerwen, who said: “I was just going leg by leg, stance by stance, pulling out 180s and he’d come back with one,” Littler said.

“I connected 170 and he gets it, the whole match every hold was amazing. I put him under pressure but he just wouldn’t miss.

“The crowd was amazing, they wanted Michael to win and I understand that. Respect to Mike.

“It was a wait after a wait and finally he got me.”
