Lyft Guarantees Rides to the Airport Will Be on Time This Holiday Season — or They Will Pay Up to $100

Lyft is doing its part to make holiday travel merry and bright.

Earlier this week, the ride-sharing company announced new guidance that regular rides to the airport will be covered in most major U.S. markets by Lyft’s on-time pickup promise.

This, according to Lyft, means that the car is guaranteed to pick up passengers who prearrange a ride, but if the driver is more than 10 minutes late, the company will pay the passenger $20 in Lyft Cash.

Drivers who are not automatically connected to a new driver 10 minutes after their scheduled pickup time will receive $50 in Lyft Cash, the company added.

Passengers who are not paired with a driver and choose to schedule another ride to the airport with another company, such as Uber, can then claim up to an additional $50 in Lyft Cash for a total of $100, per Lyft.

“Every minute counts when you’re on your way to the airport,” Lyft CEO David Risher said in a statement.

He added, “We’re so confident we can get you there on time that if we’re more than ten minutes late for your scheduled pickup, we’ll give you up to $100 in Lyft credits to make up for it — even if you take a cab or Ub*r.” ”

If passengers need to apply for additional credits, Lyft said their customers should click the “Help” tab in the Lyft app and provide their alternative transportation receipt.

Along with the new guidelines for scheduled rides, Lyft also recently introduced Extra Comfort mode, which the company describes as “an affordable everyday upgrade to your ride-sharing experience.”

Extra Comfort, Lyft said, offers more spacious cars, top-rated drivers and the ability to request a quiet ride or help with luggage.
