The M25 was closed after a pedestrian in his 50s was hit and killed by a lorry – as queues stretched for hours.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash, which happened near Junction 4 just before 9.45am, according to Kent Police.

Police added that his death is not being treated as suspicious.
The motorway was closed between junctions three and four near Orpington, Kent in a clockwise direction following the collision, with National Highways predicting the closure will last “until the afternoon”.
It has since reopened.
A Kent Police spokesman said: “Kent Police were called at 9.45am on December 18, after a pedestrian was hit by a lorry on the M25 clockwise near junction 4.
“Officers attended, along with other emergency services, and a man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His next of kin have been informed, there are no suspicious circumstances, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
“The highway has since reopened.”
Motorists trying to take the route were turned away following the crash – with diversions in place via the A20 and A224 via Orpington.
