Macy Gray Denies Claim That Her Son Hit Her, Addresses Family ‘Issues’: ‘He Would Never’ (Exclusive)

Macy Gray is speaking out about her daughter Aanisah Hinds’ recent allegations against the singer’s son Tracy Melvin Hinds.

“My son and I love each other and he would never think of doing me any physical harm. Beyond that, like any family, we have our issues and we deal with them,” Gray, 56, said in a statement via her response to PEOPLE Tuesday.

PEOPLE has obtained a copy of the temporary restraining order filed by Aanisah, 29, in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, which alleges that Tracy, 28, “got into a physical altercation” with their mother on Saturday.

In a court filing, Aanisah alleged that her brother had been “following” and “harassing” their mom, claiming it was something “he always does when he drinks.” She said he had been “pushing” their mum during the alleged incident and had also been “fighting” with her fiance Cornel Pearson.

“We waited for the police to come while he kept banging on the door of our rooms looking for a confrontation. After he left the house, we locked the door, but he came back through the window and started bullying again. Later he pushed me and did so many times,” the document reads.

Police reportedly advised Aanisah to file for a restraining order because there was no video footage of the incident, she wrote in the filing. She stated that similar incidents occurred in May 2022, April 2023 and at the end of October 2023.

“He constantly abuses us and fights with all of us, no one has a problem but him,” Aanisah wrote as the reason for her report.

Aanisah also asked the court to issue an eviction order, a no-contact order and a removal order that would require Tracy to stay 100 meters away from her home, workplace, vehicle, her fiance and herself, and their mother.

She also mentioned that she is expecting a child in September and asked the court to order her brother to stay away from her fiance’s workplace.
