Cause of death of Madolin Morley
Authorities in West Bountiful believe Madolin Morley died when a stone pillar supporting a hammock fell on her. The incident happened at 1:30 p.m. at a residence around 800 West (Onion Street) and Heritage Point Lane, according to West Bountiful police. A group of teenagers were enjoying a pool party in their backyard when a decorative pole, described as a stone pillar, collapsed and injured a 16-year-old girl.
Morley was seriously injured when the pole collapsed and was taken to hospital where she died. West Bountiful Police Chief Brandon Erekson said there was “absolutely no foul play.” One of the other girls in the hammock suffered minor injuries, according to authorities. The event was held at 800 West Heritage Point Lane. In a statement to KUTV 2News, Madolin’s uncle, Matt Morley, said, “We are all saddened by the sudden loss of our sweet Madolin, a kind, caring and bright young woman who touched countless lives.”
