MAFS Australia 2022 stars Melinda and Layton wrote: “Hi everyone – we wanted to keep this under wraps for now, but we have many supporters who have invested in our relationship and we owe it to you to be transparent.
“After much thought and consideration, we have unfortunately decided to part ways.”
Their post continued: “We still care deeply about each other and that doesn’t mean our lives can’t get back together, but as of right now, we think this decision is the best.
“We want to express our heartfelt thanks for all your support during our journey, it meant the world to us. We hope you can understand and ask for your kindness and respect during this time.”
The couple ended their statement with a broken heart emoji.
The news came as a huge shock to their followers, who saw the couple take a big step in their relationship earlier this year.
In a clip on social media, beautician Melinda told her fans that Layton had moved to Brisbane to be closer to her.
She said: “I just drove three and a half hours to come meet this person.
“Layton has officially moved out of Sydney and is now able to drive.”
And in August, Layton surprised Melinda with a ring to celebrate 12 months since they met on the show.
Melinda told fans: “We celebrated 12 months of Melton on Sunday night.
“Who would have thought! What an absolutely crazy ride it’s been, and you’ve been there with us, through it all.”
