She is regarded as one of the four important figures of Hindi literature’s Chhayawadi period. She has also been referred to as Modern Meera.

- Indian poet, essayist, and illustrator of short stories in Hindi, Mahadevi Varma. She is regarded as a notable figure in Hindi literature and one of the genre’s four main foundations during the Chhayawadi era. Other Indian poets refer to her as Modern Meera in their memories. One of the poets who wrote with the broader facets of Indian society in mind was Varma, an Indian poet who lived through India both before and after independence. She has won all of the notable prizes for Hindi literature. She was an Indian social reformer who worked for the advancement of women and their education as a public servant.
- Varma promoted the social advancement, welfare, and advancement of Indian women through her works. She has impacted many readers and critics for the advancement of women in Indian culture with the publication of her novel Deepshikha. She continued to be an Indian feminism pioneer throughout her lifetime.
- In addition to penning poetry, she had a strong background in music. She wrote a lot of mellow Hindi tunes. She was a good and original translator as well as an accomplished painter.

- She started working as the Prayag Mahila Vidyapeeth in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, principal not long after completing her official studies. She then assumed the position of Vice Chancellor at the same organisation. She married at the age of eleven, but soon after finishing her education, she decided to lead an austere life instead of going to her husband’s home.
- She was once referred to by the legendary Indian poet Suryakant Tripathi “Nirala” as “Saraswati in the vast temple of Hindi Literature.”
