Mahesh Thakur is an Indian actor, producer, author and entrepreneur who appears mainly in Hindi television shows and Bollywood films. He is famous for his role as Anand Babu in the Bollywood film Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999).

In 2017, he played the role of Tej Singh Oberoi in the StarPlus TV series “Dil Boley Oberoi”. For the first time in his acting career, Mahesh played the villain in the TV series “Dil Boley Oberoi”.
In 2021, he essayed the role of Govind Dabholkar, the writer of the book “Shree Sai Satcharitra”, in Sony TV’s show Mere Sai: Shraddha Aur Saburi. In an interview, when asked how he felt about playing the character of Govind Dabholkar, Mahesh said:

In September 2022, Mahesh Thakur filed a case against his lawyer Mayank Goyal, a Chandigarh man. According to sources, Mayank was representing Mahesh in a legal case over a property dispute and he kept asking the court for money to file petitions or pay court fees. When asked for payment receipts and other documents related to the case, Mayank refused to deliver them and disappeared. Mahesh filed a complaint with the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai, accusing his lawyer of cheating him of Rs 543 crore. The Mumbai police lodged a complaint under Sections 420 and 406 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
